মঙ্গলবার ভোর ৪টার দিকে রামপুরা অংশে হাতিরঝিলের ৪ নম্বর সেতু সংলগ্ন পুলিশ বক্সের কাছে এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে বলে বাড্ডা থানার এসআই অনয় চন্দ্র পাল জানান।  নিহত দুই বন্ধু হলেন হেদায়েতউল্লা (২৬) ও হাবিবুল্লা (২৫)। ডিপ্লোমা ইঞ্জিনিয়ার হেদায়েত ঢাকায় মরিয়ম গ্রুপের একটি কারখানায় চাকরি করতেন। আর তার বন্ধু হাবিবুল্লা থাকতেন গাজীপুরের কাপাসিয়ায়। নিহতদের পরিবারের বরাত দিয়ে এসআই অনয় জানান, হাবিবুল্লা একটি চাকরির ইন্টারভিউ দিতে সোমবার ঢাকায় এসে সাত রাস্তা এলাকায় হেদায়েতের বাসায় ওঠেন। ভোরে মোটরসাইকেল নিয়ে বেরিয়ে তারা দুর্ঘটনায় পড়েন। “মোটরসাইকেলের গতি ছিল খুব বেশি। নিয়ন্ত্রণ রাখতে না পারায় তাদের মোটরসাইকেল রাস্তার আইল্যান্ডের সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খেয়ে একপাশে ছিটকে পড়ে। আর দুই বন্ধু ছিটকে রাস্তার পাশের একটি গাছের ওপর আছড়ে পড়ে। ঘটনাস্থলেই তাদের মৃত্যু হয়।” পরে পুলিশ খবর পেয়ে দুজনের লাশ উদ্ধার করে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠায় বলে জানান এসআই অনয়।

Myanmar's government leader Aung San Suu Kyi met with United Nations Security Council envoys on Monday over the plight of nearly 700,000 mainly Rohingya Muslims who fled to Bangladesh amid a military crackdown, pledging to investigate any credible accusations of abuse, said diplomats who attended the meeting. During the nearly hour-long meeting, Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, also noted Myanmar's difficulties transitioning to rule of law after decades of military dictatorship, said diplomats, speaking on condition of anonymity. Myanmar civilian government spokesman Zaw Htay was not immediately available for comment. Myanmar National Security Advisor Thaung Tun said Suu Kyi has always insisted on the rule of law. "She has always said nobody is above the law and we intend to implement that.
